Pissed off--a community rant
Well, if you're not in the mood for this, please skip. I'm boiling mad right now.

Thanks to Charlie charliemc for her timely email regarding the situation.



Charlie sent me an email regarding my community popicons. She told me that someone had posted a porn link to the community--using the guise of sharing a link of pics of BSB appearing in some magazine.

This individual disabled comments, so it was no simple matter to remove the entry.

Normally a community maintainer can simply click on whatever the comment line is and then hit the 'edit' (pencil) button and erase/delete the post.

But when the person disables the commenting feature, it's a little more complicated. (And I admit I wasn't familiar with how to do it--so I had to waste some time looking it up. lol.)

Now I'm wondering if I need to make the community 'closed' and try to determine who can post there or not. I really don't want to do that, though. It makes me furious...

I 'removed' the offending member from the community. But 'banning' is more complicated. Nor am I certain I want to ban, actually. (LJ is different from Yahoogroups. I'm still learning the ropes here...)

I'd love to bitch slap that person, though. What a pain!



Hard to believe that my first entry in forever is all about this crap. lol.
