Did I ever mention that sometimes inappropriate people try to friend my sister Missy sweet_missy?

Generally if I don't who somebody, then I'm not going to add them to her list of friends. lol.

On the other hand, I've discussed it with both dads and we feel it's fine to leave her entries unlocked. There's nothing in them that would let anybody hurt her, seeing as she doesn't type them herself. (She's usually right there, though, when those entries are being typed. lol. Unless for some reason she'll tell me what to write and I'll jot some notes and then do it after she's headed to bed...)

At one point psycho_smurf666 added her. (Ages ago, actually.) And when I read a few entries I was horrified.

Today I ended up re-checking that journal (for whatever reason). So I read the following entry from November 11:

Hi everyone. i would like to let you all know that this was a big joke made by two 15 year old girls who had nothing to do this summer, except mess with strangers on lj. now we are too busy to keep up the nonsense. it was fun. haha hope you found it as funny as we did.

The crap they wrote there was awful. They had randomly friended more than 500 people! And actually ended up having 88 people friend them back!

Anyway, I'm glad they quit...

I had a nice surprise in my inbox recently. A woman named Olivia wrote me after happening on my journal and reading some entries. I was touched by the kindness of her email and her ability to be so friendly and open to me.

She's very upset by the attitudes of most Southern Baptists. It's a shame when an entire group of people becomes identified with negative behaviors, isn't it?

The way that many people automatically have negative thoughts about gays...

Missy and I are both so excited about our trip! So is 'Uncle' Ry. lol. But I bet he's not as excited as Missy is. She can't wait to meet PJ in person!

I'd better get back to work. Break time is officially over!
